Now that you’ve got the directory profiles and social pages, it’s time to pass the baton to your members and friends.
Reach out to your congregation and ask them to start posting reviews about your church. Ask that they share their honest experiences with your church and your community on their social pages or directly on your pages. These reviews should be posted to your directory listings. It’s also totally fine to post this request directly on your social feed.
If you’re sending out weekly newsletters, include the links to these sites, i.e. Facebook, Google Places, Yelp, etc., so they can add their reviews. If they post on social media, ask that they make sure they tag your church’s account. (Hint: if you ask them to post direct to your social sites, you might want to turn on manual approval so you can read their posts before they go live.) The more reviews and tags, the higher you’ll get bumped up on the search results.
Also, don’t forget to ask them to share pictures of your church and your events. You should get their (and anyone else pictured) permission before re-sharing, but these make great additions to content on your website and blog.
Happy reading!
