Christopher launched Faith Growth in 2010. Since then, he has led his team in assisting churches with moving to a digital-first mindset. For some churches, that means creating a custom website. For others, it’s implementing smart social media practices. For others, it’s developing a comprehensive plan to engage and grow their church communities online. Christopher understands church needs and challenges, as he has held several church staff positions.
Born a geek, Christopher coded his first church website in 1997. In 2003 he entered Seminary, concluding his M.Div studies just as social media reached a critical tipping point when Facebook opened its site to the public. Christopher enjoys coding in WordPress, but his primary passion is in helping churches to communicate effectively by harnessing the power of digital technologies. Based in Dallas, Texas, Faith Growth serves clients internationally.
Jon has experience in programming, design, management, IT, and church ministry. Jon started his first web design company before even graduating from high school. He loved the challenge of figuring out how to make things work, learning new ideas, and satisfying clients. Over the next decade, while building his freelance business, Jon took courses in IT, business, and programming; worked part-time at a church doing sound, media, web, design, and video; taught himself PHP and mySQL; and got hitched.
In 2010 Jon accepted a full-time web development position at WebsiteCM (now Smack Digital), building, supporting, and customizing plugins for the X-Cart shopping cart system. During this year, Jon and his wife joined a church planting team to reach the city of Vancouver and the surrounding area. In 2011 Jon took a full-time position as a developer at 612Creative, working primarily in Drupal, WordPress, SCORM courseware, and custom jquery. This experience reinforced his versatility, enhanced his problem-solving skills, and gave him experience in server management. In 2013 Jon joined Forge and Smith, moving his focus solely to WordPress. He gained extensive experience working with WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, and custom plugins and themes while using modern CSS and html5 techniques, SASS, and GIT.
In his free time, Jon enjoys hanging out with his young family, playing ball hockey or soccer, discovering new bands, perusing books from his hammock, and improving his development process. Jon lives in British Columbia, Canada.
Jacob recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism degree and an Elements of Computing certificate. Though Jacob feels that he jumped into the coding game a bit late, in the summer following his high school graduation, he has quickly grown his skills in HTML, CSS, and PHP. He currently has three themes and three plugins in the respective WordPress directories with more on the way.
In addition to his passion for coding, Jacob is deepening his journalism skills. He worked as a sports reporter, senior sports reporter, associate sports editor and sports editor in his four years at the University’s award-winning daily newspaper, The Daily Texan. During his time at the paper, he covered women’s soccer, softball, volleyball, baseball and men’s basketball. Jacob was one of four journalism school students to cover the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro for the official Olympics website, newspapers in Texas and a select set of newspapers elsewhere in the country.
Harris is currently attending the University of Texas at Arlington pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Software Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. His entrepreneurship has led him to owning two small businesses while in school; a small web development company and a DJ equipment rental business. He also drives for UBER and Lyft in his part time, which is how he met Christopher, and ultimately how he started his position with Faith Growth.
His passions include: working out and playing sports with friends, hiking and traveling with his girlfriend and his two dogs, and enhancing his programming knowledge.
Josh attends the University of Texas at Austin. His area of study is Radio-Television-Film with the goal of becoming a sports television producer. Although currently being tasked with content-related tasks, he is training with his brother to learn the ways of the code. He hopes to be just as skillful as him one day.
In addition to work, Josh is exploring his options relating to his major. He currently runs the live stream for his local church and is looking for ways to improve his skill set. He’s also enjoying his love for the music arts. He spent the past four years in the top band at his high school and is looking forward to being in the Showband of the Southwest, the university marching band, for the next four years.
