I know I don’t have to tell you that the holiday season is just around the corner. However, I would like to offer a few ideas on how to prepare your church website for the holidays. Let’s make sure your website is updated and ready for the season ahead (and your holiday visitors!)
- First things first, be sure to add your holiday events to your calendar! Many people are adjusting their normal holiday plans thanks to Covid, and probably aren’t traveling. Be sure your calendar is up-to-date so people know what services and celebrations are available in their neighborhood.
- Are you ready to accept online giving? If not, now is the time to get your online donation page set-up and ready to accept digital payments.
- People love decorating for the holidays–this is probably why Christmas decorations hit the aisles in October. Festive decorations bring a sense of excitement and wonder. Why shouldn’t your website invoke similar feelings? You don’t have to update every page, but posting images of Christmas past on your homepage will help spread the holiday cheer.
How else are you planning for the holiday season? We’re all trying to make sense of things in 2020. If you have any suggestions or ideas for other church leaders, please join us on Facebook and share your creativity.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Be sure to check out our previous blog posts for more ways to improve your website and engage with new visitors!
